This opportunity will be for those who are new and would like to enjoy the benefits of using clay as malleable and versatile medium for the first time, as well as for others who are already familiar with the material. The sessions are run in a relaxed and creative environment, where participants are encouraged to try out new techniques or improve on what they have already learned.

There will be a chance for those attending to try out the pottery wheel, hand building and sculptural techniques, as well as press moulds, slips and glaze decoration. Completed work will be fired by The Harrow Potter’s Studio and collected at a later date; alternatively, work made on the day can also be kept and worked on at a later stage and glazed on subsequent classes.

All that is required is some enthusiasm and an apron or rough clothing, as tools and materials will be provided and those attending will have the option for their work to be fired at a modest charge of £6 per kilo on completion/collection.

The cost of a session is £40 per person (£35 for under 18s) for the 3 hours and work completed on the day can be bisque/glazed fired and collected at later stage and there is a modest charge of £6 per kilo for finished items.

Do sign up soon as places are limited!

What’s new

We will be looking forwards to greet everybody back to the studio and have made some changes to the format of our course. In light of recent events, we are doing our part to welcome everybody back with safety measures in place.

Play with Clay

Considering recent events and in an increasingly stressful world, clay acts as a therapeutic, malleable and versatile medium, that when handled, enhances one’s creative potential and realises stress.

  • “The Harrow Potter is fantastic! I learned so much and I've not had this much fun on the wheel in years!”
